Beautiful. The B&W shot made me exclaim out loud! Scared the cat.
It's a small world, isn't it? Anyway, thanks for sharing your neat photos.

Fascinating story and glimpse in to what I only know about through schoolboy adventure stories. Was this a cattle ranch? Have you any pics of the house? Did you drive cattle to the North East?
The ranch had cattle, sheep, and angora goats. No cattle drives to the North East. Now that I think about it, I never have heard any stories about how livestock was taken to market in the early days, maybe horse team and wagon? I will have to ask my last surviving uncle.
The color photo I took in January 1976 with my Asahi Pentax S1a and the Asahi Pentax 50mm f1.2 kit lens.
The black and white was taken sometime in the late 1920's I think.
Eight kids were raised in this house, four girls and four boys.

At the time I bought the camera, I didn't understand that getting an F1.2 was a big deal. Most came with the f2. I didn't know very much.
Very interesting photos and narrative, Alan!
