started at 7 with a Kodak boxinstamatic with flash cubes. by 10 dad (who was a pro photojournalist) gave me my 1st real camera , a Nikon F. followed by a yashica range finder, i think they called it the electro 35. Had a red light on top for over exposure and a amber light for underexposure. then an nikormat followed by an Fe. been a Nikon ninja since dad got me started in this addiction.

I was so cute, what happened?

I started out with a 110 camera with the flash cube on top when I was in grade school. Then upgraded to a 35mm and then digital in high school.

Brownie Hawkeye that I won for selling subscriptions on my paper route. It was 1949 and I was 9. I still have it but it doesn't work any longer. Have fun and keep shootin'. Mike

I had a Polaroid Instamatic when I was 12. I remember having to save money to buy the film because it was so expensive. I also had an old Kodak camera that had the 110 film cartridge the year before. Wow! SMH!

my first was a polaroid super swinger. 'in the olden days' as my daughter would say.

My first (real) camera was a Canon Rebel t2i...I was 51...it was Christmas 2011 :)

I've had a few point and shoots but didn't really care...it was just to document things like holidays....you know...smile! snap...done.

Leningrad range finder - leitz 39mm screw fittings, clockwork motorwind - good for 20 exposures, 5cm-F2 Jupiter and 13.5cm-F4 something or other lenses. I only ever used B&W in those days Ilford FP3/4. I still reckon some of my best motor sport pics were taken with that camera, circa 1966, aged 20.

It may have been a Minox 16 mm and I developed my own film, but my father would not allow me to get a frivolous enlarger. It was 1959 and I was 8. I am still pissed about no enlarger. 16 mm is a little too small to enjoy contact prints!
