Hi, I am a new user and an amature photographer, I shoot mostly landscape. I am looking to buy a Canon Rebel. Money is a bit of an issue but I think the t6i would be the best buy for the money because of the 24.2 megapixels vs 18. Firstly, do you all agree on this? Secondly, what lenses should I buy? The lenses included on Amazon are not high quality but the price is right. Higher quality lenses go out of my price range. I'm looking at the Canon EF-S 18-55mm IS STM and the Canon EF-S 55-250mm IS STM. Is there something else I should be looking at, used maybe, different brand? Do you folks have any advice for this poor woman who reads to much and is making herself crazy? Thank you all.

I recommend the T6i - the one to get - and yes, 24 IS better than 18 !! ( especially when you go to crop an image) The kit lenses are OK - but I would spring for a Sigma 17-70 2.8-4 if you could see your way to do so at some point. This faster f-stop lens will give you more options.

I have the T6i, and I love it! To be honest there are quite a few upgrades from the older models, so I would go for it. I have both the lenses you are considering, and they are good for kit lenses. They work fine for me, and I would definitely recommend that camera/lens combo, especially for a beginner :)

I got my camera refurbished from the Canon website- and that saved me a ton of money. I would direct you to do that if you are looking into them.

I have the 18-135 and until recently the 55-200 and they are excellent - especially the 18-135. I also have the 10-18 and it is very good for landscapes and interior shots. Take a look at the Ken Rockwell reviews for the lenses you are considering. I found that to be a very reliable source of information. I agree with the recommend to look at the Canon refurbished site - I have had excellent results with that. If you are really on a budget, take a look at lenses on ebay; you can get the 55-200 for less than $70. A lot of people like me save their pennies and upgrade their telephoto lens and no longer need the less expensive kit lens they started with.

Take a look at www.canon.com/refurbished. Their prices are great, and they are considerably cheaper. These are cameras that were carried by stores or salesmen and reconditioned by Canon. They have a full US warrantee. Unlike the production cameras, every single camera is fully inspected. I have several lenses I purchased that way and am very satisfied.
