I've considered those classes as well. How are you liking them?

I just started, and the price is right. They have great reading material and the assignments are on CD's. They also send helpful DVD's with information on them. I can't wait to do my assignments, but I have to fully recover from this broken leg first. I've had enough surgery in my life.

San Diego must be another planet by now. I lived there from '58-'63 as a young boy. National City was the last place and loved to go to the L street pond and catch tadpoles...like all 8 year old boys. First time in ocean at Mission Bay..first zoo...Yep that was a lovely place to be.
Now, I want to visit it with my new Camera!

Welcome to the forum, Take.

If you're going to become an independent professional, you might want to look into some business classes as well. Not needed if you want to work for NAT GEO :)

Make yourself proud. Hubby will follow.

NYIP offers a business course too, and I went to college for business, so I know quite a bit in that area. Thanks for the advice!

I went to The Art Institute of Houston from 1993-1995 (Graduated). The college was on Yorktown and Westheimer. I used to live off of Lakeside Estates and Briar Forest.

I've had a camera in my hands since I was in Junior High School. I have always loved taking pictures and capturing moments. I'm ready to come out of amateur mode and become a professional. During the past 12 years I've had a Canon EOS Rebel 2000, Kodak Easyshare Z760, and a Canon EOS Rebel t3. The last two cameras were gifts from my husband, so I want to use them to improve my skills, and make he and myself proud. I'm a Canon woman. I am currently taking the online class called "The Complete Course in Professional Photography" at The New York Institute of Photography.
I've had a camera in my hands since I was in Junio... (show quote)

Welcome. I live in Missouri City.

OK. Here's one picture I took with a Kodak Easyshare Z760.

RIP King. He looked like I made him pose for that picture. It was about to rain, so I had to snap it quickly.

RIP King
