serval cat hunting in serengeti
very nice, the cat did not seem to be too nervous about your proximity.
I'm sure this is a lethal predator but it looks like it would purr if you scratched its ears! Nice series!

There are folks who have tried to domesticate serval cats. They can get pretty big (got pics of a much bigger one later in this trip) and they have to be able to hunt. Google it, lots of info.
Very nice set.
I really like No.3. He/she seems to have spotted some prey.
Beautiful cat, but I don't think I'd want to bring one home, even a kitten. I'll stick with my domestic cat, thank you. She thinks hunting is what you do when you hear 'Mom' open the refrigerator door.

Very nice shots!
According to a clip I saw about these cats on the Animal Planet or National Geo. that I saw over the last weekend, they might be the last two ears you ever scratched
. They are solitary animals don't put up with outsiders very well. The clip showed one of them defending his kill from a pack of wild dogs; the cat won!
Good capture ,.. don't see many of these guys posted ...
Look at those big ears! Nice set.

Here is a pic of one I saw in the Ngorongoro Crater. You can see how much bigger it is than the one above.

This one doesn't look nearly as friendly as the first one. Maybe there is a big age difference.

Very rare to see a serval. Nice shots of this elusive cat.
