Hello everyone!
I have enjoyed being a lurker in this forum for a couple of months and I figure it is only fair that I take a few moments to stop and say hello and introduce myself. I am originally from Pennsylvania (Delaware Valley), living there all my life until my husband and I retired, 2 years ago, to the Sunshine State. I have had the opportunity to travel to many places in the world on business and vacations. I do miss some of the photo opportunities, but I don't miss the travel aspect of my life at all. We absolutely love it here in FL on permanent vacation! I have been taking pictures for fun for over 30 years and have always been a Nikon-girl. I started with an N2020 --> D5700 --> D70 --> D200 --> D7000, building a collection of lenses along the way. Now, I'm dreaming of a D500. I suppose GAS has grabbed me big time. Wildlife (mostly birds) and flowers are now my favorite topics. My husband shoots Canon and it is always interesting to compare and see how differently he sees the same subjects through his eyes and lenses.
I look forward to see ing your photos, sharing and learning from you folks.
With kind regards,
Margie

Welcome to UHH from another Pa. to Fl. transplant. Nokomis Beach is one of my favorite places.
Welcome to the UHH Margie. I live in Manitoba Canada just one hour north of North Dakota and visited Sarasota for one month in the spring of 2013. Took some great pictures and wonderful landscapes including sunsets. I'm sure you will enjoy both the UHH club and Florida....Sarasota. Enjoy your retirements....we loved to visit the "red barn" and the great FRESH vegetables.

Hello Margie, welcome to UHH.
There are lots of photo ops in our area, some very close like Celery fields and Venice Rookery. Some like Fakahatchee and the rest of the everglades are a bit farther but very worthwhile.
Welcome Margie, from someone a little bit north of you in Bradenton.
