Anyone use Sony FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G OSS Lens on the Sony a6000-a6500 camera? There was a review stating that only the center of the image was sharp. Anyone find that to be accurate? Are you having good results with this lens?
Then there is the Sony 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G SSM ll Lens designated for Sony a-mount lens. Surprisingly this lens is a few ounces lighter than the one above and it gets a 5 star consumer rating. Anyone have experience with this lens? It could be used with adapter on the Sony e mount cameras.
I'm looking for this focal length for the Sony a6500 for hiking and biking. I realize it's not super compact but much lighter combination than I currently have.
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Pardon my off topic question but could you kindly tell me if an A mount lens goes on a e mount camera do we still do the conversion to see the 35 mm equivalence?
So the 70-300 is more like 110-450. Thanks for you response.

There are full frame e mount cameras and the lens would be a 70-300 mm focal length then.
On other than full frame it would be 105-450 mm equiv focal length whether on a-mount or e-mount.
I use this lens on all my a-mounts, dt and fx I have found it to be sharp over the entire frame.
