A cathedral pipe organ will rumble your chest if they open up on the bass notes.

Very nice. Where is that one? There are several in the Central Florida area and I saw a beautiful one in a Cathedral in Savannah Georgia (just up the street a ways from the Mercer House (of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil fame).
Igor Stravinsky called the organ “the monster that never breathes.”

Thank you dcampbell. This was taken in the Cathedral at Saint-Louis des Invalides in Paris.

Thanks for the info Mihaly. I suspect he may have the right of it.
A brilliant shot. How did you get such even illumination throughout such a space? It must have had glaring daylight and gloomy shadows. And there is a sort of marbled effect throughout the walls (but not the pipes).
Stravinsky's statement doesn't affect the beauty of your photograph, though!

They just need to add a choir to sing "The Hallelujah Chorus" by Handel!

Thank you Charles. The lighting effects were done in Topaz Adjust with the marble effect applied via Topaz Topaz Effects. I masked out the organ, however, as I wanted it to pop from the background.

Thank you Karin. There are a whole LOT of hymns that would sound good with this organ in the background.

Thank you Sirius. I think I liked this one so much because of the whiteness of the surroundings.
