Thanks Ron

As others have indicated - yes, just make sure to format it in the camera you are using.

It will work just fine. You don't need to reformat. Both cameras use the exact same protocols to read and write to the disk. It will have zero effect on either camera's firmware. I share formatted cards with file between cameras all the time.

I swap SD cards between Pentax and Nikon and vice versa all the time. No problem. I can't swap CF cards. I only have one camera that uses them.

It can, but I'd recommend not doing that.

How long does it take to get new CF cards. 5 days maximum? I never rely on just one memory card. You can buy them at many local outlets. A little more expensive, perhaps.

Finally a correct answer! The file format is the same. You do NOT have to reformat either in most cases. I swap between a d500 and d750 without formating. Each camera makes its own folder. The d500 folder name ends with D500, the d750 folder names end with.... you guessed it, D750.

Yes! See above. Test it out for yourself on your Canons. Just make sure the camera has finished writing to the card before removing it though.

No issues whatsoever! Format the card each time you switch cameras/cards. You dont have to format the cards but I do as a habit! I have 8 CF cards I use with 3 bodies and they all work perfectly with each other everytime I switch!

On Nikon cameras they can so I would assume the same about Canon. On my Nikon D70s, if I use the Compact Flash card in another camera and come back, it will have a beginning folder that says D70s or something similar and another that would say D2x or whatever the second camera was. The camera would then have subdirectories under each for images. This isn't a perfect world and I would HIGHLY recommend getting the images off and reformatting the card before using in a second camera, but generally, it can be done.

Yep it's called money! Good advice I'll slowly get there.
