That station will be used more by TRI RAIL than Amtrak and it should work out fine for that line.
Having dealt with government insanity at the proposal/award phase this is no surprise.
1. Bids are given to friends virtually every time for design because the RFP is written to eliminate others at the beginning through the so called qualifications portion of the process.
2. Just a small class room remodel is a Britannica stack of paper let alone a project like this.
3. Most of the RFP is crap and once a buddy gets the award all goes out the window.
Information does not get conveyed due to the huge number of government entities involved .
Etc.
The whole process is corrupt.
