I am looking to purchase the Nikon 35mm dx 1.8g lens, to use with my Nikon D3300 DSLR, I want advice and opinions from my fellow UHH's as to where I might find the best deal, including lowest Price, quality of product, warranty, reputation, reviews, etc. I have window shopped at many of the online stores, saw many prices, reviews, positive and negative opinions, just want to get the best quality with a very reasonable price. So, before I buy, here I am asking for your advice and opinions.

Thank you in advance for your UHH replies.

not actually answering your question, heres my advise, find the very best price you can, then go to greenToe.com and list a price 20% lower and see what happens.
I saved $200.00 on a lens recently and it came from a very well known online store

Personally, I just bought mine at Best Buy when they were on sale. (no camera stores in my area... at least that I know of) Was the same price as anywhere online and I had it instantly. Was able to test and make sure it was fine with no hassles of having to ship if I had any issues. I paid a little more wih taxes but was not a big deal.

B&H, Adorama, or the store on the Nikon site if you want refurbished. Best of luck.

I just purchased that lens. I watched all the stores for awhile and in general the price is the same everywhere. The only sale that I ever saw was at best buy for 179 around Christmas. Otherwise it is around 199. Refurbished is not much cheaper. Go local and support the local retailer if the price is right...

Except if you are calling them... Don't do that on SATURDAY. :-)

Adorama and Cameta are equally reliable and pricing is comparable. If you do you go the Nikon refurb path, you can get a very affordable bundle (mostly filters) with up to a 1 yr warranty. Best to call the store as they can build a bundle based on your specs

Years ago I settled on B&H. The majority of the advertisers in the photo mags charged confiscatory rates for shipping and handling (in the vicinity of $100). I found that B&H charged true USPS or UPS prices for shipping and handling. The fact that they were not cheating the customer on shipping and handling led me to believe that they were a reputable source for my photography purchases.

I usually buy my Nikon products direct from Nikon USA and cut out the middle man.

My first thought is to look for a refurbished one on the Nikon, USA website. Also, I always check out Amazon, eBay, and KEH. There are also other websites to check out. However, I make sure the camera/lens is meant for the US market so that, should there be a problem, Nikon will help me!

You might want to also check out Cameta camera for refurbished products. They offer a one year warranty on their refurbished products.

Very good choice, I bought a refurbished camera and a refurbished lens from them. I have had no problems with either one. Cameta did everything they said they would do. I will be dealing with them again in the future. Enjoy your new lens !!

I am a native Texan and never lived up north, but for over 30 years I've trusted the "Nuuu Yawkers" at B&H Photo via mail order and now the internet. They do not know the meaning of the word "Hassle" as it has always seemed to me this word is forbidden in their business practices. The "B" should stand for Best as in Best Customer Service, and the "H" should stand for Highest - as in Highest Customer Satisfaction.
