Personally, I'm puzzled by this whole thread. I don't see an original post with two pictures in it here. The thread starts with the enlargement as far as I know.

My guess is a variety of squash. Could be wrong but the ragged leaves and furcated curled petals look about right from my junior gardening days (60 odd years ago).
