A wonderful study of 10 zones Mr. Smith. The haze and treatment of it superb, distance to subject outstanding, and pleasingly composed from a great perspective.....Well done sir!

Very nice, Graham. I could stand on that path for a long time. Very nice composition and treatment of the subject in post. The figure walking on the path adds a bit of interest and gives scale to the scene. --Bob

Thanks Bob.
This is the lowest point in Great Britain at 2.75 metres (9.0 ft) below sea level.
A good example of how greyscale helps imply recession Graham - along with the tonal range and leading lines of course. You got it all sorted very nicely in this one, but we know you're the master of the art, so no surprise!
I should probably just keep this to myself, but here I go again, against the flow and being contrary. This is the first "Graham Smith photo" that leaves me with nothing to say, good or bad. Just nothing...
A nice well processed image with the leading lines of the path/trail to your subject Graham. Whats your opinion on the trail being slightly off center? Just a thought. Dave

Thanks Dave. The path being off centre doesn't bother me at all, in fact a few imperfections make the image more "Human". Absolute geometric precision in a landscape photograph can be unsettling, it's not how we see things

You absolutely shouldn't keep it to yourself, I see lots of pictures that leave me cold... many of my own included
I'm noticing that the shadows beyond the first few trees have very little detail in them. I am also noticing what can be described as "hot spots" in the sky. Then there is the fact that the figure is not very sharp. I like that you added grain to this image. I also like the mood that it conveys. This is a good example of a photographer paying less attention to the sharpness and detail that we are sometimes programmed to look for, and simply conveying a mood and eliciting an emotional response rather than a clinical one. I like it very much. Thank you for posting. Erich

To forge a connection with the viewers emotions is my reason for taking pictures Erich. There was a heavy mist hanging in the trees, it's often misty being low lying (this part is below sea level) and wet and the skies are frequently photographically "white" with no cloud detail. It is part of an area of 1500 sq. miles of drained freshwater marshes.... not good for your rheumatics Graham
