Several weeks back ifound my first Robber fly, it was quite small. Today this one i think is also a Robber Fly was about 2 inches long ,cleaning itself after a very windy night.

A agree. These are good pictures, and the 1st is a large robber fly. The wasp in the remaining pictures looks to be at the end of its natural life, and has lost its antennae. My guess is that its a spider wasp.
