Lightroom 6 dual monitor question

I have Lightroom 6 on my MacBook, and I added a 2nd monitor, and made the 2nd monitor the default screen. When I open my pictures in lightroom, the program shows on the 2nd monitor, but a duplicate of the image displays on the MacBook screen. Looking for help to prevent anything from lightroom to show on the MacBook.

Dick, I've never used or had a Mac computer, but within the Windows programs in the Control Panel there is a feature for controlling the displays on second monitors to Duplicate, Extend and a few others that I don't recall. Somewhere the Mac-book must have a similar control feature.

So are you seeing the Loupe (or Grid, Compare, Survey, etc) View on the second display, or is it a duplicate of the LR desktop on the second display? If it is not a duplicate of the LR desktop, you can turn that off by clicking in the lower left corner - there is a 1 in a box and a 2 in a box. Clicking on the 2 should turn off the second display.

In your system preferences, open the "Displays" panel and look for anything that mentions mirror or mirroring display

Go to System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement > Uncheck "Mirror Displays".

Not sure about the Mac, but on the PC version on the bottom left hand corner below the "Import" button, there are two windows labelled 1 and 2. Click on the 2 window to turn the second monitor on or off.
