I love dilapidated buildings, I don't know why it took you three years to edit this nice picture. Windows has capable editing programs, I would have bin all over that right at the start. Never the less, good work on the second one!

All the edits tell a slightly different story with emphasis on different parts of the pictures. I think they all look pretty nice. In the end, it's really up to you. Which one tells they story your trying to convey?

Hey, Mommy.

I must admit I'm a bit ambivalent about your versions, although both have merit. I'm not going to name a favorite because that would depend upon the photo's final use.

I do have a quick question, though. Where exactly was this photo taken? I ask because it's highly reminiscent of an old barn I shot on the highway west of Lake Benton, between Lake Benton and Brookings, SD. That would be Highway 14 in SD - I don't remember its designation in MN. This wouldn't happen to be the same barn, would it? I took my photo about 2 years ago, when the barn was still standing, if you'd like to see it then.

No biggie, but I'm curious.

just my thoughts but I would concentrate on one aspect of this interesting building. I think a crop ..off right side..get rid of silo..and crop in..put a stormy sky ..and convert to black and white. WIth this type of image..you need to show some texture in the buildings.and a foreboding sky. The color actually detracts from the feeling..of abandonment..delipidated lonely place. The forground is not interesting so get rid of it..crop crop crop.

this is a very poor example ..but gives you a sense of what I mean..the image is very tough to do any editing do to low resolution etc..but I think you can get my point of the crop..and the look you could get..with some post processing. I love this type of abandonment etc..did a whole series on this for photography class..picked an abandoned mental hospital near me..fun to shoot but very scary..as it was a restricted area..no trespassing. There is a site to explore regarding this subject ..http://kingstonlounge.blogspot.com/. This guy is quite talented..have a look.
