My best? Probably not, but, my favorite.

Favorites count, phlash46. Any shot that speaks to you is worth including here. This is very well done, hard to capture Christmas lighting well, and you did it. Great job, and thanks for taking part in our 'Best of' thread.

I know the post said one but I have two that I really liked. First one, I love the fact that you can see the pollen sac on the bumblebee. It's not a perfect photo by any means and it was shot on my D5100 with my Tamron 18-270. But, there is something about the bee on the marigolds that I like.

Second one is #4 of our five kids. Right before bed, casual, no flash, new to my D750...I like the picture.

Thanks to everyone who has made me feel welcome on this forum. Also, thank you to everyone who has posted to this thread. Thank you for sharing your personal perspective on your best of 2016!

This one had a big impact on me because it was shot with my iPhone and reminded me that I was more important than the gear.

Both a fun and appealing image, TB4, and you're quite right. The eye behind the camera is the most important part. Excellent shot, and thanks for proving once again that cell phones are not to be ignored when it comes to good photography. Glad you chose this one for entry into our 'Best of 2016' thread!

Hello everyone! I joined recently and not sure how this work. I am a beginner to amateuread in photography, just started shooting in January 2016. I hope to meet some of you in the near future and go out shooting together.

Below are two of my best shots, can't decide which one...
Juvenile Eagles was my first experience watching them in person and photographing then with my new lens. Drove to Maryland by myself, leaving my home at 3am and arrived at 5:30am. Met up with the other photographers there who stayed overnight. Was freezing cold standing there for 6 hours. My body was nonstop shivering. I forgot my winter jacket. I called it quits when noon came because I can't take it anymore. Surprisingly, I found this one and only one nice shot of the Eagles.
Starry Shack was a privately owned shack on the beach and that night was my first time trying to catch the milky way on the beach. The police were patrolling and as my friend was trying to shoot star trails behind the shack, we had to stop. Walking back to our car, this shack caught my eyes and I stopped to make this image. As long as we are outside the fence around it, we are good.
Hello everyone! I joined recently and not sure ho... (show quote)

Great job with these, Shirley! A lot of seasoned photographers would be envious of this pair! Excellent work and thanks for submitting them to our 'Best of 2016' thread. Very worthy inclusions! And welcome to the forum!

Spectacular as usual, Mike. Don't have a clue how you'd ever pick a 'best' shot, as every one of your images is a best one, lol. Always a treat, always impressive, and thanks for sharing this group with us for our 'Best of 2016' thread!

Lots of great shots here! It is hard to choose so I uploaded 3. The first two are from the Oregon coast and the third is from Fort Worth. The city puts christmas colored lights on the bridge and they rotate from red to green to yellow.

Thanks for joining the 'Best of 2016' thread, 346pak. Excellent images, and I really like the colorful bridge, so well composed. Glad you chose to include it among your favorites!

A beautiful shot, Don, and certainly one of the strong points of photography--creating and capturing images that make us smile with the memory of good times. Great choice for the thread, and thanks for submitting it!

This one I like to look at often so I guess it must be a favorite. It happened very quickly as my husband was driving and I had to time it between the windshield wipers! No time to look at settings-just picked up the camera and got a couple of shots.

Soft and mysterious, I like this one a lot! Nice job with it, and a great choice for a 'Best of' thread. Thanks for submitting it, Linda!

Great topic but very difficult to decide for a variety of reasons. I just viewed a bunch of beautiful photos submitted to this thread.

With that in mind, here are a few of mine.

All of these have been sent in lower resolution.

Nice job with these, Jeff! You caught the action well, and beautiful images to boot! Thanks for submitting them to our 'Best of 2016' thread!

Fun shot, bud! Looks like he's just being neighborly and wanting to chew the fat across the fence, lol. Love the shot! Thanks for submitting it to the thread, and thanks for participating in our 'Best of 2016!'
