Enjoy your trip. Your lenses are satisfactory. A friend went to Europe with 16-50mm and 55-210mm lenses on a Sony a6000 mirrorless crop sensor camera. Took beautiful photos. I've heard weather in Norway can be unpredictable. You may want to bring some waterproof type of covering to protect your camera while there.

Norwegian Cruise, not Norway. Anyway enjoy your Caribbean Trip.

I have a Nikon D3300 with the Nikon 18-55 DX VRII lens and the Nikon 55-200 DX VRII lens, with one 16gb Sandisk Extreme memory card, One EN-EL14a battery, I will have on my 7 day April Cruise, any advice or suggestions on what I might do or possibly purchase to help make my Photographic Cruise experience a Success, any help from my fellow UHH members before I go will be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your support.
I have a Nikon D3300 with the Nikon 18-55 DX VRII ... (show quote)

I have been on six cruises with almost that same package, except I have a 32gb card to your 16. Never had a problem with a dead battery or no space left on my card. Even if all you do is shoot pics all day long (you won't) you can still charge your one battery at night. If you have the wireless adapter you can download pics to your phone to clear space on your card (easier to just switch out to a bigger card). The last cruise I was on I had a 18-300 lens. No need to switch out lenses. I did on this last cruise also have a Lowepro backpack. (bought off of Craig's list used for $15) The small one and it held all three lenses, camera and filters and my charger. Much better to carry around the camera gear than the original Nikon bag. So my recommendation ... a back pack and bigger SD card. Enjoy your cruise ... April should have good weather for you.

Have also taken seven day cruise to Caribbean. I would take all of your equipment. The bigger lens will be valuable if you like to take bird photos. Not only are there a lot of exotic birds on the islands. Sea birds often follow the cruise ships as they leave port.

If you have a list of what islands you will be stopping at there are people here that could help you with what the shooting options are on the various islands.

I have shot in Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Barbados, St. Lucia, and St. Martin. I'm sure that there are others here who have hit different islands. Each has something different to offer.

What excursions you take will also impact what lens or lenses will serve you best. If you go on more adventure type excursions then you will want some kind of rain gear for your camera, possibly a waterproof backpack, and a light waterproof jacket.

Like has already been said invest in more memory cards and at least one extra battery. Also I take several micro fiber clothes to clean and dry my cameras with just in case as well as a lens cleaning kit. You can always leave camera gear on the ship, but if you need it and don't have it then you are going to just miss the shot.

Silverman, have a great cruise. Just curious, is this your first? Most of these islands are pretty small and the ship usually docks with the bow practically sticking into the village center. I would avoid the ship tours for two reasons. They're overpriced and you'll spend a lot of time getting on and off buses instead of seeing things YOU want to see. Unless you have a specific desire, like snorkeling on a remote part of the island, you can do most things yourself. When you walk off the ship there will be hundreds of people trying to sell you things to do. If that works, fine. If taking pics is important to you then just wander off by yourself and keep an eye on the clock. If you return to the ship a few hours before departure you'll walk right on. If you wait until the end you'll be in a long line to reboard while everyone has their bags scanned and liquor confiscated. Word of caution, NCL does not let you bring even a large bottle of water back on board.
