Photoshop Elements

I purchased Photoshop Elements to make Christmas Cards, now, I want to advance to working in layers. I have an old black & white photo of my Grandmother that I would like to add color, erase the back round then join with another photo of my three aunts that are in color.
I've tried to do it myself, what a mess I have made.

Please, Can anyone help me?

A.J.

Try posting your question in the Post Processing Digital Images section of the forum. I'm betting someone there will be able to give you some guidance.

Go to the top of this page and click on "Create New Topic". Proceed as you did when you posted this topic. You will need to go to the drop down box and scroll down to the correct section, "Post-Processing Digital Images". Then just type in your title and then your question.
Hope this helps.

Open elements, open guided, click on photomerge. You may add or remove subjects.

Take a look at Affinity Photo. Many Mac folk have used it for a long time. They just released the Windows version and I really like it. <$50 and it does much more than PSE. It does everything through layers which gives you lots of room to explore and revert. I originally was disappointed that it doesn't have a "library" function like Bridge, but there are many available for free. (I'm using FreeStone)

I like Corel Paintshop Pro, but Affinity is easier to learn for those of us with Photoshop experience. Affinity does many things in similar ways to PS so the learning curve is less difficult. And Affinity does a little more than PSP or PSE. Also plugins work.
