First, the problem is that it's not a very interesting image. The foreground is missing anything interesting and the leading line leads you away from your subject (which I'm assuming is the building). The small bit of shrubbery on the left is keeping me in the photo but it's not enough to keep my interest, or loop me around back to the building.
The edits are all just "fine" they don't help me focus on anything in particular just different interpretations of the same.
I think the problem is that your subject is dark, and the scene is light. Eye goes to the lightest part, follows the lines out to the end and that's it.
Sorry to be blunt.
I'm torn between #2 and #3. I like the reflections in #2 and the more colorful feel of # 5. I could imagine walking up to either of thse with a fishin' rod and a thermos of coffee and spending some time just enjoying.

I don't understand what you think you have captured or edited. Edited what to what? What are you trying to accomplish? The first edit needs some smoothing, but I get lost after that. I too am sorry to be blunt but if you want help we need to know what you're trying to do.

i havent done much editing, so i chose a random photo that i had took, i then altered the photo using a photo editing program, i think i marked the original photo number 1 with "original photo". may be i have got the terminology wrong, i should have put photos i altered. regards Allan

No Allan..that's not the issue. If you want people to help you we need to know what your goal was. The image you started with is just not that interesting. Are you "editing" by picking presets in your program? What program are you referring to? Just saying "what do you think of my editing" doesn't say much. I'm sorry but I'm trying to help.
sorry got it now, i used the wrong heading by saying what do you think of my editing, regards Allan
Well, Allan, from what you have here, good photo or not,I think you were asking about the editing, NOT about the photo.
I like edit #3 the best because it lightened the boat and pretty much the whole scene, added color and gave the feeling of early morning or late evening, very quiet and peaceful!
I think the important fact to remember is that "editing" an image should be done with purpose in mind. Simply editing it for the sake of editing it almost never leads to anything good.
Look at the image, tell yourself what you specifically don't like about it. The subject isn't clear. There is a branch in the way that I didn't see in the view finder. There is a piece of garbage on the ground, etc. That's editting.
If you're shooting raw, then there are a few small steps that you have to take with every image but this is usually not very image related, it's just a simple process. Every image get +10 contrast, set black point, set white point. Done, do sharpening (subject dependent). You're done.
When you ask yourself what can I do to make the image good, just delete the image -- I don't mean this literally but that's the result.
I think what we have here is a program like Professional Photo Edit (I think that's the name). It has a ton of effects you can apply to an image. What you have seem to have done is to pick some effects and applied them to your image. That's not really editing. It's just applying a preset effect to the image. There is a difference. There is nothing wrong with applying effects. They do have their place to create and apply an effect you want.

I have many photos like this. I call them "just to see what happens pictures."
Moreover, messing around with photos and various editing tools is my primary photographic pursuit.
I do it this way because it's powerfully entertaining, and the results are instantly viewable. Matter of fact, I just bought a digital photo frame so that I can look at my "meanderings" after the fact while away from the computer.
In sum, the variety of colors in these images is very pleasing to see.
Thanks for posting them.
All the best,

Edit #1 has the best sky., love the pastel colors.
The scene speaks to me of tranquility, the kind of place I would love to be canoeing.
well color me boring, I would've taken that picture in a NY minute, just would slide the horizon up or down to the third line. Beautiful scene...
