Here's a couple of images of high alpine in late autumn.
The middle one is called, "When good mountain climbers go bad," or "King of the Mountain slipping on his Crown".
Good set,Excellent shots.Thanks for sharing.

Very nice! # 1 especially. Highest I've climbed is just over 6000 ft(Mt Washington)in winter but don't know if I have a 14 in me.
Good shots , #3 is a real beauty.

Mt Washington is one of the toughest due to the extreme weather up there, even at 6k.
Bravo. One I've always wanted to try.

YOW !! Not sure 14K' is the right place for THAT Crown !! Given the lack of PiO2 AND the action of EtOH on O2 metabolism - the combo could well result in the King rolling DOWN the hill :)

Maybe THAT's why he has that SEG :?: <smiling :) >

I was sharing the Crown. Maybe that's part of my focus/exposure problem. 8-0
Beautiful shots, I hiked on Mt Rainier with my family several years ago.
Really like #3. Looks like you're on the moon.

At 14K', given my DLCO {which IS appropriate for age}, my TUC after 2 Crowns would be about 5 minutes :)
But I'd roll down the hill HAPPY :thumbup: .
.
Also - as I'm a relative landlubber living near sea level, zipping up to 14K' would give me great concerns over HAPE and HACE.

Techie Acronyms:
DLCO = Diffusion Capacity in the Lungs (gas transport)
TUC = Time of Useful Consciousness
HAPE = High Altitude Pulmonary Edema {a bad thing}
HACE = High Altitude Cerebral Edema {a badder thing}

Did you summit? It's high on my bucket list.

We hiked high enough to stand on a glacier on Labor Day weekend with our son who was stationed at a Navy shipyard in the area then.

I understand the crevasses on the glacier can be daunting.
