Interesting article from Nikon Rumors.
Their top ten of all cameras includes 5 nikons, and zero canons.
Wow! I'm shocked! A Nikon site has chosen Nikon cameras for their top choices over Canon?!?
Next we will find out that the Democratic Party favors Pres. Obama over Mitt Romney in Nov. ;) :-)

Is DxOMark.com a Nikon site?

Sony cameras have been voted best camera 2 years in a row
by an independent magazine.

It may or may not be a Nikon site but they have chosen a Pentax K5 as the best AP-C camera (above all Nikon AP-C's)

Oh I don't know what kind of site it is Stef, I never even heard of it. I was just goofin' about that link from Nikon rumors.
I'm only fooling around and making a bit of joke.
(guess a crappy joke)
:-D

I'm sure the info is fine.
I just felt bad cause I didn't mean to derail your thread off track with my nonsense.

I have been looking for noise performance on the new D3200 sensor and this is the first data I have seen. It says it is a little worse than the D5100/D7000. But the data shows a small difference for the latter two. That puzzles me because they use exactly the same sensor. Perhaps the noise reduction software differs?

Be very careful of what you say, you'll be accused of having common sense

Having looked at the specs for the D3200 and the D5100 there were only 2 items of significance. The 5100 has 16 mps and the 3200 has 24. For a prosumer the increase is of no significance unless you have a very large colour printer which only a professional would be able to afford. The other is that the 5100 has an articulating screen whereas the 3200 does not. For a keen amateur the swiveling screen is brilliant. I looked at the spec for the 3200 and decided that I preferred the 5100. A further problem of the increased mps for a prosumer is the increased transfer times because of the bigger file sizes. If you want a fixed screen and more gismos than the 3200 go for the D7000.
You have to remember that the DxO data is purely about Sensor performance and there is more than that to a camera.
Small differences can be down to sample variation.
