Hello everyone, just a few photos from last night. Any opinions on how I should do some editing using LR4 k PS elements 14? Photos were done in home studio setup, with 2 AB strobe lights, one used for hair light, other main light, canon 35mm f/1.4 lens

Very nicely done. Black on black is always difficult work, and these show you have a pretty good feel for it. Perhaps try adding a tad more shadow detail in the hair, and doing a little highlight recovery on the forehead of the mother? It doesn't need much.

I had to set up school portrait lighting for Herff Jones Photography in 2007. We used a 45" white fill umbrella just left of the camera axis, a 36" white main light umbrella 45° to the right, and 45° above the subject, a background light (when not using black velcro cloth for the background), and a 10x30 strip softbox behind the subject and opposite the main light for a hair and separation light. It was soft enough to render a black cat in a coal bin with detail in the fur and correctly exposed eyes, OR an African-American with very dark skin, in a black graduation robe, wearing a black cap and tassel. We had no blown highlights, no plugged shadows, and we were making JPEGs (in that industry, there is no such thing as raw!).

I'm no portrait pro but maybe reducing the glare on the forehead and nose of the mother might help. Otherwise, I think these pics are quite good.
