One quick Question dlmorris.
Does that adapter fit over the lens of the telescope or is it removed and placed on the lens tube that the lens fits in?

Those are great images.

Thanks Beaver... The adapter fits onto the eyepiece of the telescope/binocular/sporting scope or whatever. Not *in place of* the eyepiece, but *on* the eyepiece. Here is a close up of how it works.

What was the cell phone mount you used to attach it to the scope? I tried the Gosky Universal Cell Phone Adapter Mount, but I have an HTC M8 with a curved back and the phone didn't quite fit right. I could never get the phone oriented properly over the scope eyepiece. Yours looks like it has fingers that could reach around my phone.

Go to <Oriontelescopes.com> and then search for #5347. Steady pix EZ Smartphone photo adapter. A bit pricy, but is adjustable for all sizes of smart phones, and has adjustable fingers to clamp onto different sizes of eyepieces. I just got it, so those were my first attempts to use it.

I was wondering what kind of a picture you could get by attaching a camera phone to a telescope, so purchased an adapter and mounted my phone to one of my scopes and tried for the moon. Here is what I got. Feel free to check out the download.

THAT is really impressive! Who would've thought 40 years ago that phones would have evolved to the point of taking pictures to rival what NASA was probably getting back then?

What cell phone, adapter, and telescope did you use for these shots?

Excellent moon images. What type of telescope did you use?
