Very nice photo. For me, these are the type of subjects that beg for close-up shots. But in this case, maybe you can't get too close for fear of the place falling down around your ears!

What I would call a mood shoot - very nice. When you convert to black and white do you just use the option in a photo editing program that coverts, go to you saturation selection and adjust to taste, or another method? Thanks & enjoy the day.

Neat! I live in a rural area between Dallas and Houston, and I haved been taking similar shots for several years now, including on my annual vacation with my wife to Maine. I have hopes of perhaps publishing them someday.

I love shots of old falling apart buildings. Don't know why but I'm sure my shrink knows. Very well captured. The black and white gives it a nostalgic feel. 8-) I can't think of anything that needs improving. I do find that once I have taken a shot of the whole building if I move in close I can capture a bunch more in the details. Here are a few of my abandonded building shots

I think if you could have shot more a wide angle lens and got more of the house would have been a nicer photo but this is a good shot

In some area's I like to use B&W it seems to bring out the Character of the subject more than color. I'm still in the process of learning, "guess we never stop doing that" of how to best enhance my photographs. thanks for all the comments and criticismÂ’s because they do help me understand the art of Photography better. I, too, love old abandonded buildings. My friend took me to this cabin thinking that it might be worth shooting. How well he knows me, eh! So, I am hoping that they are "share worthy."
