Trump voter Teena Colebrook lost her home last year to a foreclosure company started by Trump's new Secretary of the Treasury - Wall Street billionaire foreclosure king Steve Mnuchin - and now realizes she was conned into believing Trump would stand up to the Wall Street crooks, not hire them

A woman who voted for Donald Trump is now regretting her choice after the President-elect chose Steve Mnuchin to be his Secretary of Treasury.

Teena Colebrook explained to the Associated Press that she had voted for Trump hoping he would keep his pledge to remove the elites from Washington. However, she became truly disenchanted when he chose Mnuchin, partly because it showed he’s “now backing his buddies.”

But also because Mnuchin was responsible for the loss of her home and source of income.

Mnuchin used to be an owner of OneWest, a bank formed in the aftermath of the financial crisis of 2007-08 that acquired the assets of subprime mortgage lender IndyMac. Shortly after acquiring the loans from IndyMac, OneWest began foreclosing on thousands of them.

Colebrook used to own a triplex in Califronia where she rented out two units. Her lender was purchased by OneWest in 2009. By that time, she had an interest-only loan and was dealing with revenue issues on her property as tenants were caught up in the economic downturn.

She explained that she tried to modify the loan through government programs available but got nowhere with OneWest.

Over five years, she tried unsuccessfully to adjust her loan with OneWest through the Treasury Department’s Home Affordable Modification Program. But she said that One West Bank lost paperwork, provided conflicting statements about ownership of the loan and fees and submitted charges that were unverified and caused her loan balance to balloon. By the time she lost her home in foreclosure in April 2015, the payoff balance totaled $517,662.

In regards to her feeling about her vote for Trump, Colebrook didn’t mince words.

“I just wish that I had not voted,” said Colebrook, 59. “I have no faith in our government anymore at all. They all promise you the world at the end of a stick and take it away once they get in.”

It was recently reported that OneWest foreclosed on a 90-year-old woman over a 27-cent payment error. Mnuchin, a former Goldman Sachs banker, and his partners sold OneWest in 2014 for a price of $3.4 billion.

Wow! They found one person in a country of 320 Million who regrets her vote. This is a really disturbing trend. (End of Sarcasm)

Wow! That's your logic? You think that there is only ONE Trump voter who is outraged that Trump conned voters into believing he would "drain the swamp" and stand up to Wall Street crooks, rather than hiring them? You are too funny!

So, how does it feel to realize now how YUGE you were conned into buying the bullshit by your "anti-establishment" Gold Plated Billionaire Con Man, who has already assembled a cabinet made up of an Oligarch's Dream Team, corporate lobbyists, and Wall Street billionaire scumbag crooks?

I guess you missed the part about how Trump conned his voters into believing he is a populist, anti-establishment man of the people, and then as soon as he got elected, assembled an Oligarchs' Dream Team of Wall Street scumbag billionaires from Goldman Sachs and foreclosure fraud kings who he said should have been jailed, along with corporate lobbyists, fossil fuel industry executives, War Street insiders, and many long time Washington establishment folks?

Try reading what she said again about why she feels she was conned.

I agree with you TOTALLY that Trump conned his voters into believing he is a populist, anti-establishment man of the people, and then as soon as he got elected, assembled an Oligarchs' Dream Team of Wall Street scumbag billionaires from Goldman Sachs and foreclosure fraud kings who he said should have been jailed, along with corporate lobbyists, fossil fuel industry executives, War Street insiders, and many long time Washington establishment folks.

...however, my point is that the election did not affect the foreclosure, which happened last year.

(I think, what she really means, is that she should have investigated Trump, his cronies and the companies they own before voting for the guy)

Sounds like the economic downturn caused her problems. But how can that be since our current POTUS created so many jobs, and decreased unemployment over the last 8 years?

Did you forget? This must be Bush's fault! All problems during the Obama Administration are either the fault of the last President, or the next one who hasn't taken office yet.

I agree with you b TOTALLY /b that Trump conned ... (show quote)

Ah, ok. Perhaps the title should be more clear. Nobody claimed the election affected her foreclosure.

And yes, blame for her refusal, and the refusal of tens of millions of voters for that matter, to do any due diligence reference checks and examination of the track record and character of the person they decided to trust with the keys to the family jewels, rests with themselves. There were plenty of red flags and flashing warning lights regarding the fact that their Orange Savior was nothing but a professional narcisstic con artist. We have a nation of dumbed down, reality tv watching, stupid gullible people easily distracted by shiny objects and demagoguery. I guess people have to learn the hard way, and imperil the entire planet before they wise up.

Both candidates had red flags and flashing warning lights. You just naively fell in line for the one that lost.

Is this another attempt at false equivalency again? You live in a fantasy world to pretend that Trump and Clinton are equally dishonest, dangerous, psychopathic, incompetent as POTUS, unprepared for dealing with foreign relations, demagogic, bigoted, misogynist, or demonstrating a history of con artistry and screwing over the average Joe. But you will never come to your senses on this.

Steve, merely repeating your lie in bold does not make it any more convincing. Just thought you should know.

You're welcome!
