A few more shots I took at the arboretum that I thought were interesting... the last three are fun, wonky shots I took with the fish eye lens on my sx50.

Hope you enjoy!

Woohoo! I'm so glad I'm first to comment, because I wanted to ID that fern. It's a Staghorn fern, Angela. I have one that used to be my mother's and is well over 50 yrs old. They live a loooong time and are air plants. Beautiful, beautiful shots of all, and you know how much I love those fisheyes!!

Donna, I thought it was, but when I googled it and it said it was an air plant... this was planted and by water, could it be the same?
I'm glad you enjoyed my odds and ends and even the funny fish eyes!!

Thanks sundar and glad you enjoyed!! This fisheye is a filter built into the sx50 along with quite a few other fun ones to play with.
Always appreciate your visit!!

It's the same, Angela. Mine is planted in a hanging pot and gets plenty of water, but I've seen them planted on boards wrapped with moss.

Thanks.... I've seen them with the boards and moss. I wonder if they'll take it inside for the winter!!

They might if kept misted. We keep ours in the greenhouse all winter, and it seems to thrive. Ours is in the greenhouse now, and Vic saw our pair of Carolina wrens roosting in it the other evening, so I guess they've claimed it for their winter roost.

Neat about your wrens.... I've spotted a pair in my tree and sampling the menu!!
I would hope they take it in, unless it can survive the winter....

No, they're tropical, Angela, and would need protection. It's the only plant in the greenhouse right now. The rest haven't been moved. I couldn't stand to lose the staghorn, because it was my mom's, so we don't take any chances with it.

I thought it was tropical... you better give yours extra protection, just like I do with my mom's African violet!
