You know as well as I that the intel was flawed. You also know that your soulmate Hillary agreed with Bush.

Lie: The Bush administration deliberately distorted and outright lied. Are you still pretending that there is any justification for destroying a country because we thought they had certain weapons? I noted in February 2003, a month before the invasion of Iraq, that the country could not defeat a desert caravan, let alone threaten the almighty United States. Tell me what is the justification even if they really had those weapons? If your apologism for Bush were valid, any of us could walk up to a small child, beat him into permanent injuries, and avoid prosecution by saying, "Oops, my bad; I really thought he had dangerous weapons." There is no doubt about our arsenal being the most dangerous in the world, or that we have used them to kill about a world leading ten million people since World War II. Does that give a coalition formed against us the right to invade and conquer us?

Finally, have you read "Restoring America's Defenses," the Neocon MEIN KAMPF that nearly a decade before Bush became president openly called for the conquest of Iraq to control its oil? It warned that this would be easy to do, but would require a "catalyzing event, like a new Pearl Harbor" to make it politically feasible. It was written and endorsed by dozens of future Bush administration senior officials. Tell me that they called for the very thing they later did, but somehow it was not their plan. They put it into writing. Early defectors of the Bush cabinet, like Secretary of the Treasury Paul O'Neil have testified that the conquest of Iraq was discussed in every cabinet meeting from late January 2001. What is it about this that you cannot understand? At what point will you back off the insane position that the proven lies of the Bush administration were just a case of mistaken intelligence that ended in the destruction an Arab country? Oops! Our bad does not cover something so egregious.

Did you compare that to the last Bush year? Did you take into consideration that the Republicans systematically obstructed everything Obama tried to do, including several bills to create jobs for veterans?

Think about this:

Standard & Poor's 500 Index

+13% Carter
+50% Reagan
+30% Bush I
+150% Clinton
-45% Bush II
+ 100% Obama

+87.7% average Democratic presidency
+11.7% average Republican presidency

The stock market, seriously ?

It's amazing just how well the stock market will do when you a) slash interest rates to zero and b) print money 24 hours a day for 6 years. Unfortunately that doesn't really trickle down to the working mans economy. Obama was faced with something out of those old AAMCO ads....you can "pay now or pay later". He opted to pay later. He literally "passed the buck"...or passed 10 trillion bucks. My kids and theirs will inherit his 10 Trillion added debt.

And as for the Clinton years, you should be pointing to Newt Gingrich as the architect of that economy.

You are spinning, or lying, Hondo, as usual. Bush's performance on deficits is the opposite of Obama's. He started with a record surplus, then turnen it into record deficits. Obama began with a totally collapsed economy that need pump priming. He ended with a smaller percentage of deficit compared to GDP than what had been handed to him.

By the way, now that Trump is in and BO is out:

1:42 PM The Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed today at all-time highs, for a record-setting finish to a holiday-shortened trading week.

That would be great for corporations if it held up for longer than the brief emotional lift corporations always experience when their more favored extreme right wing ass hole wins an election. The question is, will it last through the entire administration? Past performance says, no, it will not.

Standard & Poor's 500 Index Adjusted for Inflation

+13% Carter
+50% Reagan
+30% Bush I
+150% Clinton
-45% Bush II
+ 100% Obama

+87.7% average Democratic presidency
+11.7% average Republican presidency

Spinning? Lying?

Go ahead and live in your fantasy land Peter. Obama doubled the national debt on his watch. His admin borrowed more money than every president before him put together. Debt (what I was talking about) is different than deficit (your point). I can keep that straight. Why can't you?
