Suggested immigrant behavior in the US

Did you read beyond the headline?

" But while the number of foreign migrants has been steadily growing since 2000 in the US and other most popular destinations, Russia recorded a slight annual average DECREASE of about 0.6 percent in its immigrant population in that period. According to UN data, Russia hosted 12 million migrants in 2000. The immigration issue remains a CONTENTIOUS ONE IN RUSSIA'S POLITICS AND SOCIEYS, with surveys consistently revealing POPULAR HOSTILITY towards the influx of people from abroad. Government migration officials estimate that most of Russia’s immigrants originate from the impoverished neighboring former Soviet nations that share a visa-free regime with the country and are mostly looking for work. "The former Soviet Union retains close migratory ties," the UN study said, adding that "bilateral migrant stocks" are especially large in KAZAKSTAN, RUSSIA AND UKRAINE. Russia’s Federal Migration Service (FMS) said Thursday ONLY A MINOR PERCENTAGE OF INTERNATIONAL MIGRANTS HAVE PERMANENTLY SETTLED IN RUSSIA,UNLIKE THE SITUATION IN EUROPE, according to official data.

NOTHING ABOUT MUSLIMS OR SHARIA LAW WAS STATED SPECIFICALLY IN THE ARTICLE. ONLY KAZAKSTAN HAS A SIGNIFICANT MUSLIM POPULATION (70%). THE FMS SAYS THAT MOST ONLY A MINOR PERCENTAGE OF INTERNATIONAL MIGRANTS HAVE PERMANENTLY SETTLED IN RUSSIA, UNLIKE IN EUROPE (AND IN THE US, I MIGHT ADD).

If you believe everything Snopes prints as gospel, you have a problem. I did once upon a time, and then I became disappointed.,

Anyway, someone cited a link that he didn't bother to read carefully. I quote:"Tolerance is a noble quality, however tolerance alone will not solve the increasing tensions in Europe as a result of the refugee crisis. What is needed is a strong message that new arrivals must adopt the cultural norms of the host nation, even if these conflict with their own cultural practices. - See more at: http://www.pravdareport.com/opinion/columnists/20-01-2016/133104-refugee_crisis_europe-0/#sthash.8hbuRWLr.dpuf

This was Putin's message (even if he didn't really say it). A Muslim, given the choice between Sharia Law and U.S. Constitutional law, etc., will choose the former. For this reason, they really don't assimilate well.

As usual, you and others read only the title of the article. Assuming that Snopes is correct, scroll to the bottom half of the article:

"President Putin did, during his introductory remarks to a meeting of the Board of the Federal Migration Service in January 2012, speak words somewhat similar to the sentiments expressed in the item reproduced above, but with much more moderated language and a much less inflammatory tone:
On the whole, the adaptation of guest workers is a separate and comprehensive issue. We must create the conditions for immigrants to normally integrate into our society, learn Russian and, of course, respect our culture and traditions and abide by Russian law. In this regard, I believe that the decision to make learning the Russian language compulsory and administer exams is well grounded. To do so, we will need to carry out major organisational work and introduce corresponding legislative amendments. I'd like to ask the Federal Migration Service and other departments to submit specific proposals to the government. These proposals should be openly discussed with ethnic minorities as well as public and religious organisations. This should be mandatory for all guest workers regardless of their future employment. Last updated: 11 November 2015

Note the word MANDATORY from Putin.

Have a nice day.

Not directly related to religion, but close enough. Too bad the UK leaders aren't paying attention.

Interesting sentiments, and I do agree with them to a degree. However, do you have a source attributing this statement to President Putin?

Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech about the tensions with minorities in Russia:

"In Russia, live like Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, it should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, and live the life of

"Russia does not need Muslim minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell 'discrimination'. We will not tolerate disrespect of our Russian culture. We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland, and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Muslims are taking over those countries and they will not take over Russia. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of Sharia Law and Muslims.

Even if this was not said by Putin, read the thought in the message. This country became what it is by immigrants moving in and becoming part of the whole. They learned the language, customs and mores of the larger group and became part of that group. Problem now is that groups come in and remain apart. They have decided to take the best of what our country offers without contributing. They try to set up areas with the rules of the countries that the escaped from, which makes no sense. If you liked that way of living, why leave? Those areas become like cancers, growing from within by destroying the surrounding area. We cannot become like Europe, Middle East light. When faced with problems like occure in places like France, which has areas that even armed police will not go, we need to surgically remove the cancer, so that the rest of the body can survive.

To rmalarz: If you want to believe Snopes.com, Putin didn't make the exact speech as allegedly written. I don't have time to research it. However, as I wrote earlier, if you scroll halfway down Snopes's FALSE proclamation, you will find:

"President Putin did, during his introductory remarks to a meeting of the Board of the Federal Migration Service in January 2012, speak words somewhat similar to the sentiments expressed in the item reproduced above, but with much more moderated language and a much less inflammatory tone:

Note the word MANDATORY from Putin.

Thus, it would seem he did not make an inflammatory speech, but something calmer but the same. This should settle the Putin speech issue for all those interested.

Is that why he must rule by force, rather than by law?

Putin is strong and he boasts about his country, Obama ran around the world on an apology tour.
