Guys, my website building tool/HTML editor (Microsoft Frontpage) is long outdated and unsupported. What tool do you currently use to create/edit your website? Thanks in advance for the information.

I helped a small non-profit get up and running with Wix. It's a host/tool combination. There are a couple of other brands that do the same thing and are presumably just as good. No html, no css, just drag and drop. I used Dreamweaver to build their former website but Wix produced good results, you couldn't tell the difference by looking at it, and now anybody who invests time in a couple of tutorials can maintain the site, at very little effort. Yes, it has limitations, but the folks who visit the site have no way of knowing that.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have used Dreamweaver in the distant past, but as I recal, it was pretty daunting in its complexity. I'll give Wix a try.

If you have the cloud, try muse.

I gave a friend an older copy of Serif Webplus after I upgraded, and he LOVED it. We both recommend Serif's Webplus.
(FYI -- when I upgraded, the sales person at Serif encouraged me to give my older copy away, and the sales person was smart, because my friend ultimately upgraded as well).

Your comments about Serif WebPlus are correct (Serif PagePlus is a complimentary program which will enable you to produce a variety of advertising media plus web pages) and most older versions work with Windows.
However, check with your web host if they can handle Serif WebPlus, some don't: Hostgator is an example.
Serif, of course, offer a hosting package. Well worth checking out.

I use Microsoft Expression 4 (free) as it's a great wysiwyg.

I've been using Dreamweaver for a while now. It's an old version but it does what I need it to do. Most of the time I write the HTML and let the program show me what it does. I don't think it's available outside of CC now, and since it's not part of the photography package it's probably pretty pricey.

I checked out BlueGriffon a while back and it seemed to work but DW still works for me so I didn't pursue it. You might look at some other programs out there.

Thank you for the good link Dirtfarmer. I have used Dreamweaver (or tried to) in the past. It's a very versatile and powerful application, but my HTML skills are not as good as yours, so looking for a simpler alternative.

how into the weeds do you want to get? what do you want to do? wordpress is pretty effective and lots of plugins, but pretty straightforward to use. wix is very very simple. dreamweaver is a few steps up in complexity

Thanks for the reply. Just trying to create a quick website for my work without trying to resurrect my very elementary and meager HTML coding skills. Since I have my own hosting site that I've used for years (Lunar pages) and several domain names that I own, I'd like an ap that will allow me to save the finished pages and load them onto my own site without having to buy new hosting as so many of the "free" web creation tools require. I've just started using Wix, and it seems to be the approximate level of capability vs learning curve that I require, but not sure yet if I can save the resulting pages and move them to my own site.
