Linda, I chose this photo as the ship is so large, its stern is almost completely hidden, and, through subtle transition, the bow is in relatively clear view.

My favorite scenes are when I'm on the edge of clearing fog and facing towards the sun. However, I have learned that if the sun is burning through rather brightly, it's best to keep it small in the frame. A large featureless white blob is not all that attractive
Here's a recent shot. View is across a river with sun on left, about an hour and a half after sunrise. Fog was thin and starting to clear, providing a translucent veil of light on the trees. In pp I used a high key filter, among other edits, to enhance the mood.

Very good one, Linda. It has 'feeling'. I'd be proud to have it hanging on the wall.
I live at the confluence of Lake Huron and the St. Clair River and we get a lot of fog here. The other morning I woke up to the sound of fog horns from the ships entering the river from the lake and went to the waterfront and took some pictures.

We get a lot of fog where I live starting about Nov 1. I'll try my hand at fog shots - this one is amazing!

An early morning cell phone image in bedroom community of Yorba Linda on our way to: Breakfast, a Movie, then a bar to shoot pool and celebrate our 35th anniversary. I literally stopped the car on a 50mph highway to shoot this from the sun/moon roof while keeping my eyes on the rear view mirror. The road was empty, so I took two shots before a pickup truck slowly eased up on us.
After volunteering in an orphanage in Cusco, Peru my wife & I took an extra week to do some sightseeing. There are already several images of Machu Picchu, including some with fog, on the internet. So I won't post mine. Instead here is a photo I took on the way up. You can see the river below giving you a good height perception. Of course the unknown was, would Machu Picchu be visible at all once we got to the top? Fortunately the answer was yes. :)
I posted this one a while back. I printed it, my wife framed it. I looked at it yesterday, she framed it upside down. ( the little tabs on the back of the frame to hang it. otherwise YES I would just turn it over )
Nice work! Hmmm, I think we had fog once here in Tucson AZ. Maybe it was in December 1969? I hope you all can keep shooting to remind me what it was like :-)
