The Beauty of Brown Feathers

Between the nearly shadow free cloudy day light and flash the plain browns of a house finch show a beauty most don't associate with LBBs (little brown birds).
I worked it to bring out the feathers.

7DII, 100-400 mkII + 1.4X = 896 AOV, 1/250 @ f/8.0, ISO 400 flash, hand held at about 55'

NO! Won't Turn Head for Portrait, go away!

An unusual view of this LBB - I love it! Nice job capturing the rich brown of the feathers, robert.

Thanks a lot. I almost deleted it because he looked away as I pressed the shutter. But I decided to go for the beauty of the feathers, that bit of house finch red sets off the browns nicely.

Hehe,
with the Title in mind, I'm waiting for this little cutie to moon you :D

In my opinion you worked it well :) .
A clear example that our models do not have to look into the camera

They have done that too.

Thanks, I am thinking of doing a series like this since there is a great variety of LBBs and even some larger Brown Birds.

Nice to see the touch of color in the feathers besides brown.

Yes, and not all house finches have that red on their back. This one had the red and a very nice pattern in it's other feathers.
