That looks like a fun trip.

Have you ever had the sudden realization that you have never done something that is right in your backyard? I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and I was 56 or 57 before I ever rode on a cable car. Same here, we are about 90 minutes from Canon (pronounced Canyon) City and it was the first time any of us had taken the Royal Gorge Railroad. It was indeed fun and I have a few shots of the rafters too but that wasn't the subject this round. Thanks for the nice comment Richard.

As tourists to San Francisco, the cable car ride was almost the first thing we did, and we loved it....

I guess the moral of that story was to not ignore the interesting things to do that are right in your face.

It was fun and we also did Alcatraz last year. I had never been there either. Had to move to Colorado to see some of this stuff.

The one time (so far) that I've visited San Francisco in 1973 I rode all around downtown SF on cable cars.

Seeing that I'm moving North from L.A. I'll be closer to SF and perhaps visit more often.

We have been lucky enough to visit San Francisco twice and both times we have had that real "feel good" experience.

OK Rails are are for trains, however so are railroad Tracks, some old roads or trails are also called Tracks. Steam engines have rods, some cars are hot rods, a dragster might be called a "rail", curtains hang on rods.

For model train buffs we also welcome your photos

Enough of that, have fun :connecting Rods and Rails"

Lets see some photo tales this week too!!!

Time once again to interject my interpretation of "rods and rails".
