Hi,
I am relatively new to photography so my knowledge is limited. I have a Cannon 7D and I would like to get a good all round wide angle lens. I have read that the Canon 10-22mm is very good, as is the 17-40 (both USM) and the 16-35 is great but expensive. I would appreciate any thoughts. Doubt that I would use the UW very much but good to have one and I also believe you get what you pay for but you need to get what is practical.

Hello and welcome to UH. I have a Canon 7D and the wide angle lens I got is the EFS 15-85mm image stabilizer ultrasonic - it is fantastic and well worth the money. It can also work as a macro lens at 0.35mm/1.25ft. though I chose to buy a separate macro lens. Good luck with your decision.

Have done that but it is a users choice I think and I am too much of a novice at this stage. Probably go 10-22
