Has anyone noticed artifacts appear on Nikon Raw file when opened in Photoshop. But they do not appear on the same RAW file opened in NX2 first, saved as TIF then opened in Photoshop.

Canon guy here saying no ;)
I haven't noticed. Could you post an example?
I'm waiting for forensic samples from my friend who has identified the issue. He's pretty persnickety on such things. Will post when I get it.
Not at all. Interesting. Please keep us posted.

I shoot Nikon RAW and use NX2 for post. I do not have PS, nor have I used it. That said, I can tell you that in my efforts to become better at using NX2, I have read much, by many. The issue you describe is documented in one of the books I have read, but I don't recall which. But, I distinctly remember the author advising to convert the NEF file (in Capture NX2) to TIF before opening in PS.
Not much help, I know, but simply wanted to confirm your findings.
