fake pics..
so...fake photos are just an object or a sceen taken out of one photo and transformed on to another, is there a technical word for it and is it done in photoshop? I've never heard of it before. Thanks

I'll make an occasional darkroom (lightroom) enhancement, but as far as faking a shot, that's too much work for me. I don't have the patience or the time.
One of my favorite fakes was some years ago, when my wife was doing layout for a slick magazine in Connecticut. They had a photo of a new restaurant with the owners. One was missing, but they included a photo of her with her boyfriend standing under an arbor. I had to "create" an extension to the room, and dropped her in on the end. Best part was, I understand that when she saw the picture, she was puzzled because she didn't remember being there!

That might be one definition, but by no means is it all inclusive. Theoretically, it could be said there are no "fake" photos; as any photograph is "real" based on the intent and purpose of the creator of any image.
Other words that can be used are "manipulated" or "post processed" images. These actions can be done within the camera itself, with lighting, with filters, or with software, or by any number of different techniques, some electronic and some non-electronic.
The creative touches can be added to photos for ones own viewing pleasure, or for the viewing pleasure of others. The choice is yours.
The main thing is to have fun, no matter how you choose to do something.
Wide range of uses other than silliness. Like to know how you look in different clothes, hair, makeup, car color, etc. Put in scenes around the world. Good photoshopping is fun and creative. Bad stuff is just that.
I offer service free for those who don't have software or just don't want to spend time practicing.
All request honored and private.
Fake photos have their place - I have done a few both for fun & serious need. Another reason I enjoy digital editing.
When it comes to shooting people, most people have a different sense of themselves which do not match their photographs. The things we do as portraitists to improve upon reality is universally appreciated by those in our images.
It is possible to go too far, but generally, there is a fairly large creative license at play. Taller, thinner, younger, curvier, less curvy, better skin, and so forth, are well received, in general, often better fitting a person's self image. A photographer should not be in the business of deflating a client's spirit.
Fake, nonsense. A painter uses several differen kind of brushe3sw and styles. A sculptor uses many kinds of rock , clay , metal and stuff in general to create their art. before digital photo many photo were created with dark room work. People create what the like and not by any defined 'rules' . Get over it.

Hey Elrod, how the hell did you find this thread? It started almost two years ago, died an unlamented death, was briefly resurrected over a year ago. Until you chimed in, it was fourteen months since the last comment! :) I think you win the prize!
