Toyota decided earlier this year to extinguish the Scion for good. As an original owner of an XB since 2006, it hasn't even hit 100,000 miles yet (has about only 800 miles to go)! Love this car. Won't show pictures because then everyone will want one (lol)! Suffice it to say, I will never get rid of mine...

Honda did the same thing with the Element in 2011. My Element has 142K miles on the odometer and runs like a new car.

It seems that quite often well managed and successful companies just make dumb decisions.

I bought a Scion xB a year ago. I wanted something easy to get in and out of and found it to be just that. When I heard they were going to quit making them I bought mine as 2015 was the last year for the xB model. Actually I understand Toyota is going to keep some of the Scion models. They will just be branded as Toyotas which as most folks know made Scion.

Times change, and nothing is as fickle as the car market.

From my admittedly limited knowledge of the Japanese car market, All of the Lexus and Scion models that are sold in Japan have always been just labeled "Toyota" rather than as separate "marques", It would be like Chevrolet,Buick and Cadillac being sold as "General Motors" So the models that are selling will still exist, only as Toyotas.

I understand how you can become attached to a certain automobile. My niece has a Scion and, having driven it, I must admit that it is a cute little car. As long as you have a good mechanic and Toyota continues to make parts for it, I see no reason why you could not keep it for many years.

I had a 2009 model with 130,000 mi on it, traded for a 2015 model, like it but not as much as the 09.this 1 doesn't get the MPG and is noisier But still like what it is. Skip in AZ
