I just ordered a Tamron AF 90mm f/2.8 Macro Lens, anybody have any experience with this lens??
I have two other Tamron lenses. Both are acceptable.
I have the 18-270 and really like it.

You will love it. I used it on an early Sony digital but have since switched to Nikon equipment. Would have bought the Tamron again except I got a great deal on a 100mm Tokina Macro - another excellent third-party lens.
Hi,
I have the 18 -270mm using it on a Nikon D-5000, like it a lot, especially for price.
Starting in April they had a $100 rebate on the lens.

You made the right choice. I have this lens among other Nikon and sigma macro lenses and this lens can play with the other big boys as far as macro or close-up photography is concern.
Started out with it,,was ok. Got some great shots with it. Eventually upgraded to a canon 100mm. I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Google "Mike Moats" Pro Macro Shooter who shoots exclusively with Tamron Macro's. Great lenses. I've taken his Macro Workshop. Excellent.
Hi rnichols,
I have and use this lens on my Nikon D200 & D300. It is excellent and what I like about it is the ability to slip the focus ring back and forth to go from auto focus to manual and back again. I can make the manual/auto focus adjustment with the camera up to my eye rather than have to find a similar button on the side of the lens. Take care & ...
What body do you have? I have the Canon 100mm macro f/2.8, and it is very sharp. I've had luck with older Tamrons, but not so much lately, will only buy Canon from now on. I do prefer Tamron over Sigma.
P.S. The Canon has fulltime manual focus override, so you don't have to worry about where the switch is.
I have the Tamron 90mm Macro 2.8 and it is a great lens, very sharp. Some call it the Macro / Portrait lens. I like Tamron, all the lenses I have by them are very good to great. I have the 18-270 good lens for money, and the 70-300 good lens for $$. The 17-50 is exceptional, just as good as my 24-105L.
Borrowed this from a friend to try before buying it, and liked it, but except for the distance from the subject, I didn't get any better shots with it than I did with my extension tubes. You have to be right on top of the subject with the extension tubes.
I am a novice though. When I figure how to post photos, I will.

Then I would highly reccommend A Tammy over a Sigma.
