Heading to Egypt and want to capture some memorable memories. Question is, which system comes with me: Canon 6D with some very good (24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8) L glass or new Olympus OMD-EM5 Mark II with four terrific Olympus "pro" lenses.

Jerzee, only you know your shooting and photographic goals and how important your results are.
I personally would never travel with a 2.8 zoom. They're just to big! I travel with f4's but I've built my gear around my style of shooting.
My workhorse for anything I do is the 24-105 f4. It will do 50% of what your 70-200 will do.
I also always have a 50 1.4 to cover indoor/night. I take a flash if the camera doesn't have one.
I know zip about that Olympus! Good luck and have fun.

I take the 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 on shoots. I have a lens case that attaches to my belt that will hold the 70-200 with a teleconverter attached. It gets a bit heavy but its what I want with me. I used to carry two cameras, 1dmk 4 and 1ds mk 3, with the lens attached to both, but it just got too heavy to manage

Agree it depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If photos is a/the main objective, take your heavy gear. But it will wear you down and you will not do your best work.
I prefer to go light on gear and miss some great shots, but be much better able to be more alert for long shooting days and appreciate and capture what comes along. I accept I might not be able to get 10-20% of what more versatile and capable equipment would allow, but I will be better able to "see" and select.
Of course, if this is a trip specific for capturing exceptional shots to market, take what you think you need.

And I am not sure that you'd need 4 pro lenses on a trip.

I know this one is going to hit the fan, but I can't imagine using the words "Olympus" and "pro" in the same sentence.

If it is only you, take everything you need.

If this is primarily a family vacation you may want to take just one lens and leave it attached. this depends on your family, of course. Do they actively support and take an interest in your photography or are you the one that is always slowing down the procession by stopping to make photographs (note that isn't the same a snapping pics")?

Disclosure - I do a lot better whenit's just me and the camera.

It is only due to your ignorance, not because Olympus gear is not used by pro photographers. Cheers.

Nat Geo is fine with M4/3 - you should be as well. But the bottom line is that it is ok if you think M4/3 is not good enough based on your standards. Are you a PRO btw?

"Pro" is a peculiar term with manner of dubious connotations. In the most objective sense it just means someone intentionally get a non trivial sum of money for doing it.

You have such a charming and quaint way of conversing with people. As to your last question, please define PRO. Thank you.

Sorry mogul, but I've seen you more than once giving it to members that you clearly don't like. My post to you is a love letter compared to what you have written. But anyway.

Pro? Doing it for a living. Pro caliber work is not the same if you don't get paid. And yes I'm well aware of "pros" who's work are far from pro caliber. In any case, and while I'm not really qualified to speak for Olympus, pro lenses mean just that. If it isn't clear for you, visit the Oly site and read up on those lenses.

Here is the EM-1 that I use with the 12-40 2.8 PRO zoom on it. Can your setup do the same? I had to break the ice a few times in order to zoom while on this 2 hour walk. Once I was home, I gave the camera/lens a shower. Good as new.

And here is a shot for you, after we came back from our walk.
