This is hard to believe.

If you are a RAW shooter and you shoot with the 5D Mk 4 you will NOT be able
to open your RAW files with Photoshop, even with Photoshop CC !

Among serious photographers, the Canon 5D line is a favorite and
RAW format is only way to go.

In spite of the other refinements of this camera, the inability to use
Photoshop with the RAW format is a great disappointment. I have communicated with
the Adobe people and they have no idea when they will bring Photoshop up to date.

Save your money.

This was discussed at length on the Forum just a few days ago. In your case, since Adobe took some time before adapting to the Canon 5D Mk III, why are you so surprised that the same is true regarding the 5D Mk IV? Relax, everyone's software will catch up in time. Meanwhile use the Canon tools that came with your camera (or are downloadable for free).

Relax. This happens every time Canon introduces a new processor. This time it's the Digic 6+. Adobe can't get its hands on the new cameras any sooner then anyone else, and until they do they don't have the new RAW format to work with, since I doubt that Canon supplies it to them. This is the 3rd time I've run into this issue and it has always been resolved fairly quickly.

Are you buying Canon equipment or Adobe products? The Canon comes equiped with Canon software that can process the files until Adobe catches up. You seem to have your priorities in the wrong order ....

Time to get with the program. This is not Canon's problem. Nor really Adobe's. Adobe, and others will catch up in a few days, weeks or months. In the mean time use the Canon DPP v4.5 that came with your camera - or download it - it will process your raw images and hand them straight off to Photoshop CC as a 16bit TIFF.

This is technology, get used to it and how it works!

Sorry to sound harsh, but it sounds as though instant gratification just takes too <expletive> long for you. Install the software that came with your camera and just use it.

I wish I did have a 5D mk IV, can't afford one right now, but I do have Canon DPP v4.5 that supports your camera and my own, and it works with PS just fine.

That will be up to Adobe to catch up. In the meantime it isn't a problem, use Canon DPP, it does everything needed to hand off to Adobe PS until they catch up.

If you don't want for Adobe, then either learn to be patient or beat up Adobe. As the OP said (or implied) don't waste your money on Adobe! It's their problem!

You are really overreacting. Calm down and take a deep breath. This is normal whenever any camera maker comes up with a new model. It takes from a few weeks to a month or sometimes longer for Adobe to catch up. Be patient. In the meantime you can use Canon's DPP program.

I'd love to have that problem. Been on a couple of wait lists for around a month, but still no 5DIV.

Complain to Canon for not giving Adobe the update ahead of time. You think adobe is a mind reader? Rhetorical. Psst, it happens with all SLR cameras. Welcome to the leading, bleeding edge.

I open my raw files with D-76 or PMK Pyro, never fails even if the Internet crashes during conversion.
