I didn't feel comfortable going around snapping people as they go about their daily business - but I asked these ladies if I could take their photo. If I could have done better, I'm always willing to learn.

I would love to know her life story.

I lightened this one a lot, as her face was in deep shadow.

These images bring one word to mind: "hardship". Yet they are all smiling.

Thanks for looking Mark. Yes, hardship. Elderly ladies like these still sit on the floor with their family to eat. Maybe better than our way - not talking, glued to TV or I-phone.

While I didn't exactly enjoy my tour in Vietnam I always enjoyed the people. Still do. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for looking Huey. I've been aware while posting these, that some of you would have fought in Vietnam, for which I will be forever grateful.
I love the people too. Found them to be friendly and humble.

excellent storytelling photos I agree they tell about hardship, perseverance, you captured lhe hard lines and wrinkles on there still smiling faces I to spent 2 and a half tours in Vietnam and the people especially the elderly were very pleasant and hospitable. War leaves its scars on all involved and those faces tell it all, great job.

50 years ago you could have enjoyed a year in Vietnam and you got paid for, along with all the food to eat, free cigarettes and free housing. Clothing was also supplied green clothes.
