Beautiful image, Robert! I think that something may have happen our last batch also! I counted twelve just about ready to pupate and then was down to five, then three and finally none! Feeding on the milkweed allows them to contain toxic chemicals which helps to protect them from being eaten, and it's said to make the bird very sick and throw up, but I'm almost sure I saw a wren caring one off, and know that they put a hurting on our black swallowtail caterpillars!

I love this image. The backlighting is just wonderful as far as I am concerned. I hope you get some hatches out of this batch.

Apparently the aphids know, they are present in hordes on some of the plants.
A beautiful detailed picture. Have you tried putting ladybugs on your plants? They love aphids.

I know, I did that one year with a flower bed. But, the butterfly sites all say the lady bugs also like eggs.
