I'm having to replace my printer and I'm considering the Epson P600. For those of you that have this printer, how have you liked it?
Lots of information there. Thank you!
I have been using the 600's big brother, the 800 for several months and am extremely happy with the output. Whether on the Premium Luster or the mat papers like Canson Photographique Rag, or Epson Velvet Fine Art, images are gorgeous.

Totally agree with CaptainC. I have had the P800 for about 1 year. With the 800, you can print up to 16x20 and smaller. With the 600 you cannot print 16x20. As a hobby, I do pet portraits for friends and others. A 16x20 goes for $30 (Wally world gets $39.95 each). When the pet owners see the 16x20, it sells it's self! Now, word of mouth is getting me, at times, almost to much. I am retired, need to fish more. Need to get back to Canada before the snow flys. But then again. Have done several pet there also.
I had an R2880 which nearly drove me mad with clogging, paper-feed problems - just everything.
The P600 is like an R2880 [except it doesn't do A3+] which works. I haven't had a problem with it since the moment I first turned it on.

I also have a P800 and am very happy. The P600 is similar, just won't print as large and uses smaller capacity ink cartridges. Although I do not do that many 16x20 prints, when you calculate your cost, including the supplied ink and the rebate(s), the cost for both is about the same. Given that, the larger ink cartridges will save you over it's life, and so I selected the P800. Surprise, I'm selling more 16x20 prints than I thought I might! If money is the object, you might also want to look into the P400. Seems like a good printer. Finally, if you want a good deal on a used R3000, PM me, if you're close! Best of luck.
I have had the p800 since the beginning of the year and love it. One important thing to consider between the p600 and 800. The ink for the p800 is a much better value. The p600 ink colors are about 26ml and cost around 36 dollars whereas the p800 ink cartridges are 80ml and cost 55 dollars. More than 3 times the amount of ink for only 20 bucks more. This sealed the deal for me

You should be able to print larger than 16x20, I thought you can print just as big as with the 3880 (17x38)?

Epson states that the P800 will print up to 17" wide - borderless. Both the P600 and the P800 will accept roll paper, which means you could print some nice, large panoramas or banners.

I have been using the Epson P600 for a year. Does a great job
Thanks for the information regarding the ink cartridge size, Chris. I haven't had the chance to check into that yet. I was just sticker shocked at the cost of filling the printer with ink. I've had a small Epson Photo Stylus R340 which costs less then $100.00 to replace them all. :) I'm purely a hobbyist and only sell a few small prints. If I need larger ones, I order through White House. I liked the fact that you can replace the waste ink cartridge though in the P800 and can't on the P600. This is one of my issue with the R340; that, and it's becoming outdated. I REALLY liked this little printer. :(

IF you're willing to lay out the cash, the P800 is a fine printer which will save money over time on ink. I order ink cartridges either when I get low or if it looks like I would need them to finish a big job. I'm lucky, I can get them overnight from B&H with the free shipping. You might find that you enjoy making larger prints of your work if you could do that at home. Alas, there's a cost that come with that. The P600 will make a 13" x 19" print and the ink will cost a bit more (about 50% based upon an 8 x 10). If you don't make any large quantity of prints, the ink cost difference may not be a big issue, but, for me, it made sense. Best of luck!
You'll correct me if I'm wrong but I think the P600 only does A3.

Consider yourself corrected. A3 = 11.7" x 16.5".
The following is from the Epson website.
Maximum Printable Area:
Maximum paper width: 13"
Maximum cut-sheet size: 13" x 19"
Minimum cut-sheet size: 3.5" x 5"
Maximum printable area: 13" x 129"
As has been stated, and again confirmed via the Epson website, both the P600 and P800 will accept roll paper.
