The first photo of a cross orb weaver spider was taken outside from right outside my bedroom window. The second photo is of a different cross orb weaver spider that I took from inside the house through a different double pane window. The second spider is around 20+ mm. I cropped the photo only for orientation, no enlargement. With my 105mm macro lens at 1:1 the spider filled the sensor. I did have to back up a bit to get it all in the shot. I also used a tripod and a SB600 flash off camera with a small softbox. I'm pretty sure that both are female and probably pregnant.
