Canon announced four new Pixma printers, one with a pretty red top. Apparently, they went with pricing in British pounds for these. :D

I'm a satisfied Canon printer user but I see that none of these new models will print on DVDs/CDs.

Why does that matter? That technology is fading away.

It matters to ME because I still use that "old technology".

Just multiply the GBP price by 1.33 to get the current USD price.

Some people like to do that, I still find people using modems occasionally and there are people still using iPhoto years after support was discontinued. But it gets harder and harder over time. I have had to toss several perfectly good printers because I couldn't find drivers for the newer computer OS. The manuf choose not to support the older printer.

Manufacturers often discontinue support for technology that has been overcome by newer tech. It's not like the old days where you can continue to use a device for many years and the manufacturers would support it. Nowadays, both software and hardware change quickly. That is particularly true in the computer industry.

Well fortunately for me all four of my printers continue to work with Windows 10.

One of the pictures I saw online showed one of the models printing on a disc. I use an HP 5280 for discs.
