If we can 'terra form it'... Ouch! Never mind what is there, let's invade, kill and force human hegemony... In a few millenniums (at best) but already let's declare it our 'superiority'.

I hope by then the human race as we know it has hit a hard wall, been decimated and then evolve wiser...

I also hope that if there is life that they will recognize the danger and blast us out of their sky out of hand. (Something that should have been done when the European started their colonial expansion)....

Stern, I think you have hit on something, here. It is not safe to assume that these are, "really nice aliens that would be corrupted by us!!" I think that would be an outrageous assumption.

I would tend to believe that they would be far more advanced and human life may not have any value (or some nefarious value to them!) Maybe we taste just like chicken.....Ha!!

Actually I feel that the meek may be just as bad as the stupid.. Neither have the will to make hard decisions. And I sure wouldn't want "the meek or the stupid" in control of national defense. I wouldn't want the meek or stupid making rules for me, either. The meek won't fight, they won't take a stand on issues, and they are easily made to "follow." They are not leaders, in my definition of "meek." Otherwise, they are OK..

As far as you worrying about the stupid taking over, looks to me that they already have...

Sounds like you are advocating the extinction of the human race. And, if we are not completely wiped out, any survivor should stay stupid? The fact is that Humankind is made by God's own hand, and he doesn't make mistakes. But, people have been given the ability to choose and if more choose to go to the darkside, then, you may no longer need to "wish" for our extinction.

The problem is that Americans, in our country, haven't risen to the challenge of stopping evil-doers.... as is their responsibility. Some people do make criminal choices, everyone knows who they are, but we no longer hold people accountable nor do we enforce our laws.

I don't have to advocate it. It's a natural process. With intelligence comes pollution and advanced weapons, two reasons why scientists suspect we may not find advanced civilizations. They already made themselves extinct.

As for the evil-doers, we have a lot to learn from the rest of the world. Where evil is concerned, we're the new kids on the block.

I don't know, Jerry, we have some pretty stupid savages running around with advanced weapons...
like nuclear ones!

And, it doesn't have to be a "given" that only intelligent people cause their own demise. Stupid people cause their own demise, as well. At least, the intelligent ones have the option to correct their mistakes. Stupid people don't recognize "mistakes."

P. S. I think some scientists are pretty crazy with the stuff they come up with..mind blowing to think there are no advanced civilizations out there..
