Interesting Clouds over Mt.Etna

Real sure there is a technical term for these types of clouds - At 1st I took it as a bit scary until one of the locals assured they were just clouds - Etna sleeps - Shots taken from our hotel in Taormina Sicily - Have also included a few shots of the Teatro Greco - Greek Theater getting ready for an upcoming Sting performance

Nice photos, the clouds over Mt. Etna are called lenticular clouds. They look like a lens. They are indicative of a mountain wave condition. Very important to pilots.

KD: Neat set...clouds kind of look like those in the sci-fi films Close Encounters and Independence Day. Maybe. Anyway, really nice work.

I like the first picture best. You should crop out the building on the right and level the horizon. I know you did not ask for my advise, but the HOG is the place to teach and learn. David
