This is the first time I had seen sooties around here. Normally, I only see the smaller Pied Oystercatchers, which are black & white. Sooties are quite aggressive & have constant spats with gulls that venture too close to the sooties' feeding ground. No, oystercatchers do not 'catch' (or even feed on) oysters, lol. Downloading is recommended.
We have those here, but they're called Black Oystercatchers instead. Good shots, Earl.
Cute birds, I like the way their eyes, beaks, legs and feet coordinate!!
Gorgeous birds. They look like they are wearing fancy uniforms!
Excellent set, Earl and fantastic downloads!
Nice set! Pretty birds with bright orange on black.
