I, like many of you, started taking photographs a very long time ago. That was in the age of film, 35mm was my medium. I carried two cameras, one loaded with B&W and the other in color. I developed my own and made my own prints. I was adept at the printing tricks to produce a good photo.

Taken in Santa Fe, NM straight shot
Transformed through digital effects
A just-emerged (eclosed) male Pipevine Swallowtail (Battus philenor) butterfly, still stretching wings. New butterflies hang motionless, wings down, for more than an hour, as they pump body fluid into the flaccid veins of their wings. Eventually, the fully extended veins harden, forming the "masts & spars" of the butterfly's flying apparatus.

Pretty darn cute! Looks like a good candidate for "desktop" background.

man i love that animated cattle skull shot. I admire your talent. i am just starting to learn pse9 and more involved editing. had used pse 2 for years just for tweaking photos. finally getting serious.

I love both photos, but especially #2. It looks like someone spent hours, hand drawing it. What software do you use to produce the 2nd photo?
Do you have Photoshop? If so, which version.

This could be a fun thread. Most of the time I use Photoshop Elements to enhance a picture or correct defects. But occasionally I just can't resist playing.
