I like the Canon 16-35 2.8L on a full frame 6D.

With the 5Dmk2 I use the 24mm 1.4II & the 35mm1.4 -- If I hold-up my end of the the photo taking process I have gotten some really fantastic looking shots

Ty. I am waiting to see what the mark IV is like before I decide on a ff. I had my finger on the button to order the 14 mm. But chickened out. It would b my first prime.

Ty Pockets. Do you prefer primes in this category over the zoom?

The 16-35L F4 is the best UWA for full frame at a reasonable price. The new 16-35 2.8L III will likely be a stunner but at a premium. I still say that zooms offer flexibility and many have sold their 24, 35 & 50 for the 24-70L 2.8 II. I can attest to that lens being amazing because I seldom have to sharpen in post. I find this my favorite lens even though IS would be nice but I would hate the price if they ever came out with one.

I use my 16-35 20% of the time whereas my 24-70 60%. UWA's require more effective framing with a foreground element otherwise everything seems to get pushed back in the image. If you have deep pockets look at the 11-24 F4 but many consider this over the top. It takes technique to shoot FF at 11mm to create a great image.

Ty haven't heard. My lens was introduced in 2007 so probably about time to boost price. New lens costs $1499 down from about $1700. The 16-35mm f4 was introduced in 2014 and costs $999. Doubt Canon will upgrade that yet. Really enjoyed using the 2.8L lens and it has served me well. Down side, it's a little pricey but getting better. 😀

The latest Tokina 12-28mm f4 is a crop lens that does full frame also from 18-28mm - you can read about it here - http://www.kenrockwell.com/tokina/12-28mm.htm

The 16-35 f2.8L and the 24-70 f2.8Ls are the gold standards, but pricey. The f4 version of each has IS and is about 60% of the price. The 17-40 f4L is even less expensive and a respectable performer from my experience.
